AIMS & OBJECTIVES
This course builds on German I and complies with the reference level A1 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The course aims at systematically enhancing the students’ skills in the four areas of language learning, i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course covers topics such as jobs, food, writing a postcard, the weather, booking a room, orientation in a city, shopping, and colours. Students will also be able to gain further insight into German culture in this course.

CILO | By the end of the course, students should be able to: |
CILO 1 | Pronounce correctly German words and sentences (extended to prefixed verbs, compounds, sentence intonation etc); |
CILO 2 | Fluently read and write simple texts using the newly acquired vocabulary and grammar knowledge; |
CILO 3 | Engage in a simple two-way conversation with German speakers in familiar contexts, expressing wishes, needs preferences and speaking about the past etc by displaying intercultural competence and using appropriate expressions; and |
CILO 4 | Apply newly acquired grammar structures of the German language, in alignment with the grammar contents of the course. |
