Curriculum and Courses
BNBU subscribes to the ideal of Whole Person Education through offering a broad range of courses focusing on transferable skills, guiding principles on attitudes and values that are crucial to students’ professional and personal developments. To achieve this goal, in addition to major areas of study, BNBU has offered various (A) University Core Courses and (B) General Education Courses which are targeted to train students with the following seven graduate attributes:
College graduate attributes (GAs)
GA1. Be responsible citizens with an international outlook and a sense of ethics and cicility. (Citizenship);
GA2. Have up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of an academic specialty, as well as a broad range of cultural and general knowledge. (Knowledge);
GA3. Be independent, lifelong learners with an open mind and an inquiring spirit. (Learning);
GA4. Have the necessary information literacy and IT skills, as well as numerical and problem-solving skills, to function effectively in work and everyday life. (Skills);
GA5. Be able to think critically and creatively (Creativity);
GA6. Have trilingual and biliterate competence in English and Chinese, and the ability to articulate ideas clearly and coherently. (Communication);
GA7. Be ready to serve, lead and work in a team, and to pursue a healthy lifestyle. (Teamwork).
To earn a Bachelor’s degree at BNBU, students need to complete a total of 148-155 units of course work. Out of these units, they are required to take a total of 37 units of University Core (UC) courses and 18 units of General Education (GE) courses.
