Emotional Intelligence


The Emotional Intelligence course consists of interactive workshops, physical and mental skills training, group projects, and after-class practices. By combining Western scientific psychology, Chinese traditional wisdom, and Somatic philosophy, it guides students to enhance their awareness and management of emotions and physical and mental states. The course helps students to improve self-awareness, self-management, self-motivation, understanding of others, interpersonal management and altruism, to achieve physical and mental harmony, health and happiness, and to improve their personal life.



Experiential Arts


The Experiential Arts module offers a wide range of different art courses, such as painting, illustration, dyeing, lacquer, ceramics, paper crafts, wood crafts, traditional music and dance (Videos of Guqin,Yayue court music), film, and other. The courses adopt practical hands-on teaching methods, through which students can cultivate their perception and consciousness of aesthetics, and enhance their artistic skills. The continuous creation and consolidation of beauty is achieved by constantly reinforcing the aesthetic experience. In addition to the art courses, students can participate in a series of art exhibitions and music performances to further enhance the aesthetic education.



Voluntary Service


The Voluntary Service module aims to enable and motivate students to become proactive, thoughtful and responsible citizens. Through on-site experiences and hands-on services, students are able to broaden their horizons, develop diverse perspectives, and are encouraged to join the ranks of volunteers. Throughout the course, students have the opportunity to serve in a variety of settings, including schools, communities, social organizations and even international agencies, gaining practical experiences and a global perspective.


The module offers a number of courses in different areas of service, including:

- Community Service: Contributing to the betterment of the local community and environment.

- Service for People with Disabilities: Supporting and advocating for individuals with special needs.

- Open Projects: Exploring innovative and flexible service opportunities.

- Elderly Service: Caring for the elders, empowering the elderly and enhancing their quality of life.


Each course is designed not only to provide students with a meaningful service experience, but also to lead to positive choices about social responsibility and civic engagement.


Environmental Awareness


The Environmental Awareness module aims to enhance students' understanding of environmental issues and sustainable development topics through experiential learning activities. By participating in studies and practical projects, students can cultivate their sense of social responsibility and apply their knowledge in real life to serve society. Through on-campus ecological surveys, off-campus environmental excursions, and various interactive activities, students not only deepen their understanding of the importance of ecological environmental conservation, but also learn and begin to practice sustainable lifestyles. These activities inspire students to actively participate and contribute to the sustainable development of the campus and the community.

The module offers a number of courses, including Environmental Study, Environmental Monitoring, Nature Observation, Marine Conservation, and Wildlife and Human.



Healthy Lifestyle


Healthy Lifestyle courses are offered to all BNBU undergraduate students, and aim to promote fitness, wellness, and the habit of lifelong exercising. The courses engage students in sports and outdoor activities, and each consist of 28 hours of in-class teaching and 20 hours of out-of-class self-exercising.

Students can choose from a wide range of courses, including but not limited to:

Aerobics, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Cheerleading, Chinese Health Qigong, Dragon and Lion Dance,Fitness, Frisbee, Golf, Kayaking, Pilates, Rugby, Self Defense, Stretch and Flex, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Yoga, Orienteering, Outdoor Leadership,The Dao of Chinese Archery.
