Introduction

Chinese Language and Culture Center (CLCC) is a significant teaching institution at BNBU that concentrates on practicing the ideal of liberal education. Based on comprehensive enculturation, CLCC emphasizes teaching and learning the knowledge of Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, and politics through interaction, experience, creative performance, and a series of academic and cultural activities. CLCC is a center of interdisciplinary scholars who focus on the education of Chinese humanities, covering both the classical and modern civilizations of China. We teach 3 categories of undergraduate courses including University Core Courses (such as University Chinese and PPE courses), various levels of Chinese Language Courses (for Non-Chinese speakers), and diversified Free Elective Courses in the disciplines of literature, history, philosophy, art, and ethics. In brief, CLCC provides students with chances to experience the value and charm of traditional and contemporary China. We stimulate cultural creativity and cultivate a spirit of open innovation in the BNBU students.

Learning Outcomes of PPE Courses


The aims and objectives of this course are to cultivate students not only to own views of modern social theories, including Marxist philosophy, political economy, and scientific socialist theory, but also to use the theories and methods of Marxism to analyse and solve practical problems of modern society.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Knowing the views and principles of Marxist philosophy, political economy and scientific socialism.

  • Using modern social theories to analyze and solve practical problems.
