The English Enhancement Programme aims to boost the English language ability of first year students before they commence their academic studies at BNBU. The program builds the bridge from the general English students have learned in school prior to university, to the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) used at university level. As English is the primary medium of instruction at BNBU, students’ English proficiency is a key factor to their academic performance and success.

The program is organized by the SGE English Language Centre, as part of BNBU’s New Students’ Orientation each year. Students are divided into groups, and attend daily English classes for about one week. Classes are highly interactive and cover all basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Student feedback is overall positive, and students are found to be excited, motivated and engaged in the class activities.
