From June 28th to July 1st, with the full support of the UIC and Whole Person Education Center, four members of the Health Qigong Team (UIC) participated in the 2022 National Health Qigong Championships organized by the China Health Qigong Association and Health Qigong Management Center of the State Sport General Administration; and assisted by Nanjing Guangyu Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd.. After intensive pre-competition training, team members achieved excellent results.
In the group competition, the team won the first prize of Tai Chi Health Stick-style competition and the third prize of Dance competition respectively. In the individual competition, Zhou Yiqin, a freshman majored in artificial intelligence, won the second prize in Women’s Dance competition; XIA Yudi, a freshman majored in statistics, won the third prize in Women’s Yi Jin Jing competition; LI Bowen, a freshman majored in public relations and advertising, won the second prize in Men’s Ba Duan Jin competition; ZENG Jiale, a freshman majored in Finance, won the second prize in Men’s Tai Chi Health Stick-style competition.
A total of 195 national colleges and universities participated in this competition, including 142 common colleges and 53 P.E. colleges, and the scale of the competition hit an all-time high. The competition lasted for four days, covering Health Qigong Yi Jin Jing, Wu Qin Xi, Liu Zi Jue, Ba Duan Jin and other competitions. Due to the epidemic, all the competitions and scoring were held in the form of live streaming.

As an essential part of the Chinese excellent traditional culture, Health Qigong contains the theory of health preservation in traditional Chinese medicine, of self-cultivation of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, and of self-transcendence. Alike UIC principle, Health Qigong, merged with ancient Chinese philosophical thoughts, emphasizes the harmony between human and nature, human and society, body and mind.
