The first School of General Education Board (SGEB) Meeting 2022-23 held on October 13th


On October 13th, 2022, the first School of General Education Board (SGEB) Meeting 2022-23 was held on T6-105.


School of General of Education was established in September 2022, to manage the wide range of UIC general education courses, offered or coordinated through four centers: General Education Coordination Centre (GECC), Whole Person Education Centre (WPEC), English Language Centre (ELC) and Chinese Language and Culture Centre (CLCC). Dedicated to the ideal of liberal arts education, SGE is committed to providing, developing and coordinating a broad general education curriculum that cultivates students’ intellectual and civic capabilities needed to be well-rounded young professionals, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners.


President Tao TANG, Associate Vice-President (Student Development), Acting Dean of SGE and Chairperson Prof. Stella Pui-Lan CHO-LUNG, Associate Deans, centre heads of SGE and all SGE staff attended the meeting.



President Tao Tang gave the opening remarks where he shared recent news about the development of the College and emphasized the importance of teaching. He also responded to Prof. Stella Cho that new facilities would be available after the 2nd phase campus finished its construction, which would take two more years. The meeting commenced at 12:00 and adjourned at 13:45.
