On 4th May 2022 the “Guyueqiming” Chinese traditional music concert was held on UIC campus, organized by the Whole Person Education Office, Yuzhen Jinsheng Yayue Orchestra, and the Lingnan Ritual Base of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture. The concert was broadcasted live attracting an audience of more than 3,000.

Long Chen She Huo

The theme of the concert was "Jiangzhou Drum Music", which is a traditional music popular in China’s Shanxi Province and one of the nation’s intangible cultural heritages. The concert included five drum performances and two dance performance. All music pieces, performances and costumes were based on the research of original Chinese traditional culture.

Wang Yue Po Luo Men

Cheng Lin Ko, the executive director of the concert, said “I am very touched, not only because students spent a lot of time preparing for this performance, but also because the older student members were willing to spare time to mentor the new student members, who only recently started to learn music and dance. They practiced and corrected each other's problems together, which are all their precious memories”.
