The Zhuhai Ecological Civilization University Action Alliance (ZECUAA) was established in October 2021, coordinated by the Zhuhai Ecological Environment Bureau and the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. Students and staff from the 10 member institutions submitted 29 proposals, of which 13 projects were selected for the 2022 ZECUAA action plan, covering topics on ecological research, science popularization and education, cultural creation and voluntary services.

On 18 November 2022 the contributions to the 2022 ZECUAA were recognized with a sharing seminar and award ceremony. The UIC Birdwatching Team won the second prize and the Best Creative Award for their board game “Flying above Zhuhai”. The game was first launched on 22 May 2022 at Meihua City Park, where children and parents learnt about Zhuhai's biodiversity through playing the game. Furthermore, the UIC United Innovative Charity Club won the Excellence Award for their video series about the Qi'ao Mangrove Reserve.

Award for Outstanding Organization of the Year

In addition, the SGE Whole Person Education Centre (WPEC) was awarded as the Outstanding Organization of the Year. The award recognized the centre’s various contributions, such as the teaching of environmental knowledge by WPEC Lecturer Ms. Twinkle Liang, who on 11 June 2022 shared knowledge and cases of environmental issues in daily life with primary and middle school students. The students actively engaged in the class, and gave feedback that the teacher's explanations were lively and interesting, and that they had learned a lot.
