On October 27, 2023, a delegation led by Professor Cai Qinghua, Deputy Director of the Center of General Education and Associate Professor of the School of Philosophy, Fudan University, and Director Liu Li, Director of the Office of the Center of General Education of Fudan University and Secretary of the Secretariat of the University General Education Alliance visited UIC campus.  Professor. Stella Cho, Associate Vice President (Student Development) and Acting Dean of School of General Education (SGE), extended a warm welcome with her colleagues and invited them to a meeting.

    During the meeting, the two universities shared their experiences and achievements in the aspects of general education curriculum design, content setting, credit allocation and teaching assessment. The critical issues of development in general education curriculum, measures to improve curriculum quality and future planning were also been discussed in the meeting.

    Professor. Stella Cho stated that there are plenty collaboration opportunities between the two universities in summer/winter programme and distinguished lecture series for General Education topics as well as other related activities. Finally, Professor Cai Qinghua welcomed UIC to join the University Alliance of  General Education as a member school to promote the development and innovation of general education together with other members.

    After the meeting, the delegates visited UIC’s Yayue Hall, House of Shedao, House of Guqin and library in an immersive way and experienced the Whole Person Education and the essence of Chinese traditional culture education. The delegates expressed their heartfelt appreciation to SGE for organizing the visit, and the visit ended in a cheerful atmosphere.
