Opening Ceremony of SGE Student Coursework Exhibition

    The Opening Ceremony of the SGE Student Coursework Exhibition was successfully held on 17 April 2024 at T4-203 Staff and Student Activities Centre. The event was attended by Professor Patrick CHAU (Provost), Professor Yaqing MAO (Vice-President Administration), Professor Stella CHO (Associate Vice-President Student Development, Acting Dean of SGE), Professor Jianhui LI (Registrar), Professor Tze Ki HON (Dean of FHSS), Professor Eugene CHNG (Dean of SCC), Dr. Ricky HOU (Associate Dean of FST), Dr. Darren WENG (Assistant Dean of FBM), Professor Haipeng GUO (Associate Dean of SGE) and Professor Hongyu WU (Associate Dean of SGE).

    The ceremony commenced at 12:00 noon with an inspiring opening speech by Prof. Stella CHO, who extended a warm welcome to the visitors of the exhibition. She expressed her gratitude to staff and students for their dedication to the courses and the exhibition. Following a brief introduction of the SGE and its four centres, Prof. Stella CHO emphasized SGE's continued commitment to fostering a comprehensive learning environment for students, reminding everyone that learning is a lifelong journey.

    The ceremony proceeded with the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon and a group photo session, followed by awards presentations for students who either won competitions in the Academic Year 2023-24 or had their exceptional works selected for the exhibition.

    Mr. Ziqian ZHOU, who won the silver award in the 2023 FLTRP • ETIC Cup National English Speaking Contest, shared his insights on UIC’s general education.

    The opening ceremony concluded as a memorable event, which was attended by about 100 staff and students.

    The SGE Student Coursework Exhibition will remain open from 17 April to 5 May 2024. It offers a unique platform for students to showcase their works and make valuable exchanges.
