Using a range of authentic, current and relevant materials in English, such as articles, lectures, and visual representations of data, students will be introduced to the key academic skills of essay writing and seminar participation. They will also explore a number of strategies to promote independent learning, including techniques for managing unfamiliar vocabulary, note-taking, planning, evaluating sources, peer-reviewing and proofreading.
