AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The course primarily aims at opening up a range of experiences with reading and listening for students, while further enhancing their literacy skills. The module emphasises personal interpretation of written and spoken (and/or sung) English materials together with the development of students’ ability and confidence to relate to such interpretation in their own work. Authentic English language materials used in this course include poetry, famous quotations, lyrics, and short stories. There is also examination of various literary devices and their application in the provided materials.
