I find English learning at UIC to be beneficial. UIC has an all-English teaching environment. Improving your English level will help you better understand what the teacher says in class and study efficiently. For instance, when I was a freshman, my spoken English was not good, so it was very difficult to communicate with teachers and I even couldn't speak English confidently. However, attending one-to-one speaking tutorial every week boosts my confidence and my oral English has been greatly improved. Moreover, learning a foreign language can broaden our horizons and enables us to understand the cultures of different countries, such as Britain, America, Australia, etc. This is conducive for students who want to study abroad in the future.
